| The zucchini didn't seem to go over too well in 3 of the 4 cages. We'll see if there's any leftover zucchini again after tonight. Can't wait till this mix of green bell pepper, cucumber, sweet potato, carrot, and zucchini is gone (will most likely be tomorrow or Monday night) so I can go shopping again for some other fresh veggies and make another mix! | |

| We just switched from HPW to HPW Complete 3 weeks ago. When we were on HPW, I added green juice and now that we are on Complete, I still add the green juice. My babies LOVE it! | |

| What fruit/veggie mixtures do you use if you don't mind my asking? I use the recommended ones on Peggy's website but they aren't eating a lot of it. =/ I'm on HPW Plus. | |

| My boyfriend made me Ostrich steaks tonight (usually can find it on Amazon- got ours at the local Indian/Ethiopian market), so guess what they tried?
Yep, Ostrich meat- they loved it! It's a dark meat, not what you would expect Starfruit (starting to become a favorite here) Bok Choy Ayurvedic Cooling Mix Raw Goat's Milk Bananas Mandarin Oranges
all wrapped in Kelp leaves like little Wontons
As soon as I get my camera fixed, I'll start taking pictures of prep and presentation. It's really fun writing up meal plans at the beginning of the week, researching the ratios, and finding out a way to present for maximum foraging. They don't ever get their food in a bowl- these babies work for their meals!

| Awesome! I have never given a rats rear about ratios as long as I feed a variety and all has been good so far. I have 13 very healthy gliders and have had gliders for 4 1/2 years. Lol!
Fruits and veggies I feed? Let me see if I can give you a list of those that I have fed and would feed in a heart beat, but I will be adding to it as I am finally branching out...lol!
Fruits: Apples Bananas Mango Blueberries Cantaloupe Honeydew Watermelon Pineapple Strawberries Raspberries Blackberries Red seedless grapes Green grapes Pears Nectarines Peaches Avocado Papaya Possibly more I can't think of at the moment...
Veggies: Carrots Peas Green Beans Corn Spinach Collared Greens Celery Broccoli sugar snap peas Cauliflower Possibly more I can't think of at the moment...
fruits or veggies or other? Sweet Potato Cucumber Tomato Green bell pepper

| I did it! I bought little tomatoes and some mushrooms! Yuck! So proud of myself, though.
The current fresh veggie mix is now: little golden tomatoes, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, and red bell pepper. After picking out the red bell pepper, I just couldn't bring myself to buy red tomatoes...needed different colors - it makes me happy.
Aside from the new veggie mix, they had cantaloupe (mom & Dad went out of town and Mom told me to take the rest of the cantaloupe in their fridge before it goes bad, so I figured I'd let them eat that first.) and HPW Complete with Green Juice.
I also bought some fresh fruit, including something called pluots or something. We'll try those out soon. Pretty sure buying fresh is saving me money and so far, the gliders seem to be enjoying it!

| buying fresh often will save you money.
You are starting to sound like my mom- she thinks that dinner should be very colorful for the gliders each night. LOL.
Tonight I served:
Staple mix
Sweet potato, corn, grape tomato, green beans, jicama, cucumber, sugar snap peas, carrots, bell pepper
alfalfa sprouts
blackberry, apricot, strawberry, watermelon, canetloupe, honeydew melon, apple
A cracked pecan for foraging.

| I was thinking of your mom when I did it...lol! I totally understand where she's coming from. I was tempted to buy jicama today, but wasn't too sure about it. There were several things I was thinking of getting, but I think I need to do this in baby steps. So, really, anything but garlic and onions are okay, right? Just want to know before my next shopping trip so I know I'm safe with whatever I choose to try out. | |

| Tonight was:
Glider Sushi!
Kelp wrapped around blended ginger root, violets, acacia gum, raw locally sourced fish, chopped carrots, and soaked in raw goat's milk. They won't eat their food now without the goat's milk!
The new girl got the same thing. I was thinking about putting her on an "approved" diet as I did not want to skew my diet results with my current bunch, but after consulting the vets, we decided to just jump right in. The ginger root is being added to all food this week as it helps calm the stomach and helps during a diet transition.

| Looks like I need to head to the grocery store so they can have their favorite meal when they get here too!
Tonight we are doing:
My lazy meal/Emergency Prep Sojo's Mix- Lamb for everyone but Bella
She's getting Addiction brand Brushtail Possum raw mix
Bell Peppers Apple Ayurvedic Spice mix for calming Ginger Root Raw Goat's Milk
They are getting the calming mix the next two weeks instead of cooling because I had a new glider come last week and have 4 more coming this weekend! I'm not having an Emergency which is what this rotation of the diet is called, but I like to make sure they are still used to it if there ever is an emergency.

| I need to get "dividable" plates for my Gliders with the different little compartments! Val, what is the "purplish" liquid on that one side of the green plate and in one of the mickey mouse ears? =P
Anyway! Tonight My Gliders Are Having: -Shredded Tilapia (I know that fish is not a staple and should NEVER be fed as one. The only fish I use with my Gliders are Tilapia, Cod or Mahi-Mahi. These are the only ones I feel comfortable feeding. They usually get fish every other Monday, but we made it tonight, so they'll have it tonight instead! :P) -Diced Cantaloupe, Seedless Grapes & Apple with Low-Fat Yogurt. -Zuchini, Spaghetti Squash & Asparagus

| Tonight is:
HPW Complete w/green juice Cantaloupe Carrots, Cucumber, Green Pepper, Sweet Potato, Cherry Tomatoes
I need to branch out more soon...should write up a list of the fruits and veggies I read on here and pick new ones from that list each week instead of the same ol' same ol' - even if some of them are new "same ol'".
