| It's garden season around here.....the gliders (and I) have been enjoying lots of fresh zucchini, summer squash, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes. Oh....and a little corn, whatever the deer leave for us. I still mix it all with bok choy and whatever looks good at the store, but I am really gonna miss these fresh veggies when the season is done! Fortunately, the melons are still coming :o) Of, course now I have a craving for Chinese..... | |

| Do you leave the skin on? Just serve the chicken as it comes out of the pan(grizzle, etc)? I'm thinking "yes", but wan to be sure. | |

| Yes ma'am. I just bake them as is and then let them cool and put them on the plate. Easy peasy and the gliders love it. | |

| Last night was a kind of eclectic night for us --- basically cleaning out the fridge. We had veggie and egg bake, spring mix, frozen mixed veggies, sugar snap peas (in pod), sunrise slaw, bok choy, canteloupe, honeydew, dried coconut, strawberry, grapes, pear & pomegranate. And, just cause it is cute, here is Cruiser enjoying some egg bake. | |

| Wow Val that looks like a very appetizing plate. I am going to have to buy a pomegranate and serve it like that. Just washed and sliced right? Cruiser is adorable, might I steal him | |

| Pomegranate - it's a favorite here and that's exactly how we serve it here, too. You can find just the seeds, but what fun is that? Mine LOVE to dig them out and toss the rest of it aside. So cute to watch them all hover around the pieces. :)
So last night, we had a pretty good assortment of fun.
Staple Mix (VGV), along with:
Cauliflower Strawberries Black eyed peas Persimmon Yucca root Garbanzo beans Shredded coconut Acorn squash Blueberries
Tonight's dinner will be Staple Mix (VGV), and
Rutabaga Zucchini Broccoli Cherries Okra Grape tomatoes Apples Kibble

| Last night was veggie mix night. I went shopping and bought bok choy, cucumber, red sweet pepper, sweet potato, yellow squash, broccoli slaw, parsnips, spinach, and frozen mixed veggies. Everything is chopped (using my amazing vidallia chopper) and frozen except the parsnips, spinach and frozen veggies. Every couple days I find a new veggie to add to the mix so that it keeps changing (parsnips and frozen veggies are next). The spinach is mostly for me, but they will get a bit once or twice. They LOVE their VGV staple. It is poured over their veggies, except for one pair that prefer it on the side. Fruit is whatever looks best at the store that week. This week was melon, last week we had pear and tonight it will be oranges. This weekend they will get to play with pomegranate. I also give them hard boiled egg or chicken a couple times each week.
I need to try making an egg bake....that sounds tasty for them AND me! I have decided that when I make sushi over Christmas I will make an unseasoned version for the gliders. I don't know if they will like the seaweed (Nori), but they can eat around it. There will be rice, cucumber, avocado, chicken & whatever else looks good! I'm excited about making them a special (and pretty) Christmas dinner!

| OK Val that look's just Delicious. Next time I go on vacation I am sending them to Val's Resort and Spa!!
Can I ask how many gliders does one dish serve. I am asking because many times we all serve too much and then think the gliders are not eating well. I think this is a great example of a correct portion for X amount of gliders.
PS: at least I did not ask for measurements cause I know better!

| those dishes in the picture above were for trios of gliders. Some of my trios eat a little more than others, but each of the 4 dishes pictured was for 3 gliders. | |

| Tonight, we are having sugar snap peas, carrots, cucumber, sweet potato, green bell pepper, jicama, grape tomatoes, cantaloupe, strawberries, and HPW Complete with green juice.
And our new puppy, Nacho, grabbed a piece of cucumber that fell to the floor and wasn't quite sure what to do with it...lol! He enjoys watching me feed the gliders and is very good about staying out of their room and watching from the hallway.

| He's adorable! New Year's Eve for the gliders is SUSHI! They have the traditional sushi made with nori - filling is avocado, cucumber and hard boiled egg. I was interested to see if they would like nori....turns out they do (at least those I've seen eating so far...not all are up yet). They also got a bit of veggie mix (bok choy, cucumber, radish, sweet pepper, corn, green beans, carrots, parsnip, gai lan) and a couple cucumber spears. Oh...and their VGV staple. Happy New Year to one and all! | |
