Trying new vendors is sometimes a harrowing experience for many of us. Sadly, I find that many people who are newer to gliders spend a lot of money on very unsafe or poorly made products simply because they did not know what to look for or what questions to ask. So, in this thread, we will discuss questions to ask a vendor before you purchase from them the first time. Any reputable vendor will NOT mind these questions and will have acceptable and direct answers to all of your questions.
QUESTIONS TO ASK ABOUT SEWN ITEMS
* What size stitching do you use on the inside of your items?
* Do your items have hidden seams?
* What size stitching do you use when you close up your items?
* Do you top stitch? If yes, do you use a straight stitch or a decorative stitch when top stitching?
* What fabrics do you use?
* What steps do you take to ensure the safety of items made from fabrics other than fleece?
* What steps do you take to ensure that your items hold up to wear and washing?
QUESTIONS TO ASK ABOUT TOYS
* How long/with how many gliders did you test this product before beginning to sell it?
* Would you recommend this toy for chewers? Why/why not?
QUESTIONS TO ASK OF/ABOUT A VENDOR IN GENERAL
* How long have you been creating items specifically for gliders?
* Has anyone ever reported an injury from one of your products? If so, how did you respond?
* What is your return policy?
* How long will it take for me to get my items?
* Can you give me three references and/or direct me to a website where customers have reviewed your items and your service?
Now, these are just off the top of my head, so I'm asking our experienced members to add to this list if/when you think of something I forgot.
