Last night my babies got something they only get a couple of times a year. Corn on the cob. I took fresh corn on the cob, trimmed the top and bottom (so that the only part left inside the husk is actual corn on the cob, no stalk and not the silk end). I cut each cob into about 3 pieces and gave it to the gliders, still in the husk. They loved it! I fully expected a mess this morning. Turns out, gliders are pretty need when husking corn!

What do you do for your babies only once or twice a year?

Mine had the same thing last week....first fresh corn I've seen so far! They found every tiny morsel on those cobs!!! I did husk it for them. Never thought about leaving it on.

It's a great idea! The other yearly treat I was looking forward to giving them are lilacs. However, this morning I noticed that they are already turning brown :o( I think the crazy temp fluctuations we've been having really cut the lilac time (which was short to begin with) even shorter. Sad....

That is a great idea! I'll have to try that soon.

Next time, I'm going to string them up and hang them from the ceiling. I might do that with their fruit tonight.
