Do you all not know, or just don't want to say? I have lost my regular vet of 12 years and am working with someone new who is not familiar with sugargliders. She is being very accommodating and has run all the necessary tests but does not know the normal values. I have standard lab values for blood work but do not have urine standards.

Even if you don't know, it would be nice if someone would respond to say so or point me somewhere that I may get an answer.

Thank you.

https://thesweetspot.forumotion.net/t899-vet-to-vet-consultation-numbers

Can you print this out for your vet and she can check with one of the vets on this list Might be useful for her to have on hand incase anything else comes up.

I don't know, but Catherine had a great idea to have your vet contact those listed. Good luck!

Perhaps, like with me, this thread just didn't show up for people when they clicked on "view new posts" It happens sometimes. On THIS forum, unlike on others, posting "I don't know" in response to a thread is not allowed, so you won't get those kind of posts. You will only get responses that are informative in our medical section. If you feel your post might have been missed, you can request that any of the staff give it a look, and you can certainly do it without insinuating that we might just not want to share information with you.

Val or anyone else, isn't there a Merck Veterinary Manual section with standard numbers for gliders, or is that (I thought I had heard this) now out of date and no longer very useful?

Here's the links I found in case it IS useful to you SuggieG:

http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/htm/bc/texl17.htm

http://www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/htm/bc/texl16.htm

Again, not sure if those numbers are still considered current, but thought it might give you at least a gauge? Someone correct me if I'm wrong....

According to the Exotic Animal Formulary 4th Edition (newest addition) written by Dr. James Carpenter the answer to your question is:

Specific Gravity: Avg 1.030 Range 1,020-1.040 (103)
ph: Avg 6.2 Range6-6.3 (98)

I would like to thank all of you for your responses. I have provided my new vet with your consulting vet information.

To Val, I was not insinuating that members did not want to share, only that they may feel it inappropriate to. I did not mean to insult anyone here.
