There are several things this might be. Of course we are going to tell you to go to the vet and have tests run. It could be an injury, an ulcer, an abscess (eye or tooth) or a foreign body in the eye. Get it checked out and treated. Be sure to let us know what the results are.

Per vet: Well best guess is foreign body in the eye? He does not have an eye injury (sorry did not what to call it). He developed an abscess. Lanced it cleaned and xrays, etc. Overall a good experience with this vet even though receptionist is a PITA. He is on TMP 2x a day and 3 doses of metacam/1x a day.

We took him to the evet got there at 7AM. SHe said he needed to put under lanced etc. Gave me an estimate. Almost $800. Um hello? Poor animal has been waiting for care for hours, you tell me he has to wait even longer and on top of emergency fees, $800 for care? Took 45 minutes to check out. This vet did did give us metacam just in case it took forever at the next vet, he's have something for me to give while we waited.

Drove to second vet. Same exact procedures on estimates for $350. I like the vet, not the office. She's good with them and he crabbed so much she could barley hear his heartbeat. Hence his name Beeker. He's doing much better. For now he is separated. I spoke with Val and Aimee and plan to put him back but I want clean the cage first so tonight or tomorrow. I feel bad that I separated but it was the vet advice and I can monitor his food/stool. Since he seems to be doing better than I am, I think I need to worry a little less.
