Wet Tail? Empty
PostSubject: Wet Tail?   Wet Tail? Icon_minitimeTue Jun 26, 2012 9:43 pm

So I got my 10 week old glider on Sunday. (he isn't neutered if that has anything to do with this) When the breeder took him out of the pouch I noticed his tail was a little wet. Since then I have been taking him in and out of the cage to bond with him
and it doesn't really seem to be going away. I'ts only in some spots
now but I'm still worried. Also I'm pretty sure that it's urine.
Is there something wrong?

Welcome, myshka!

He is a baby, and may be pottying in his pouch. Is it only in the bonding pouch, or both? Neutering won't have anything to do with this. I don't think there is anything wrong, but I'll wait for other opinions, and the answer to the question.

Have you tried giving him a little time outside of his pouch before he goes into the bonding pouch.

What is babies name?

Also, can you put your name in your signature?

His name is Remy :) His buddy's name is Sunny. He's 7 weeks old but surprisingly he's the more bossy one of the cage :p
Thank you for your input! Just in case I will be taking him to the vet today anyways because he's due for a check up before we decide if we're getting him neutered or not.

I would wonder if the younger joey might be peeing on the 10 week old.

A 7 week old joey should still be with its parents. He may not have gotten the lesson from his parents about waiting to pee until you are out of the sleeping pouch. Like any baby, he may just not quite have full control over when and where he pees.

Most of my gliders have a specific spot they go to pee immediately when they get up in the early evening. Most of them it is the shelf on the opposite side of the cage from their sleeping pouch.
