You may choose from one or both lists. It is entirely up to you. ************ Rescue homes asked to participate in this exchange include: thefotokat/SECARES Rescue & Sanctuary Kingdom Kritters/ Val Lucky Glider Rescue ADOPTABLE GLIDER FAMILIES These are gliders that are currently available for adoption or will be available for adoption once their quarantine or treatment time is completed. Grin & Barrett Indy ColonySpirit, Agape & Cafe Gummy Bear & Jelly Bean Mason Peter Colony Titan & Athena Yahtzee, Jenga, Bunco, & FarkleRuffles & Ridges Schnitzel & Struessel GLIDERS THAT WILL STAY AT RESCUE HOME These are gliders that have come into the rescue system and the rescue home has committed to providing their medical or behavioral care for the remainder of their lives. These gliders have unusual or severe issues that will require special treatment or care for the remainder of their lives. Yes, the rescuer falls in love with them, and YES, they do become pets. These gliders are a financial strain on the rescue home, but each rescue home has voluntarily accepted that responsibility. We provide this explanation for you to assist you in making your choice.
Padme: Has a large area of scar tissue from an old wound and does not get along with other gliders. She will stay in sanctuary. Bogart and Moxie: Bogart was surrendered by his owner after his cagemate died. We’re not sure of this guy’s previous life story, but he’s definitely arrived with some emotional baggage. He was terrified of everything…me, toys, food bowls. We’ve had to introduce enrichment to him slowly, and he’s now able to handle changes to his cage with considerably less stress. A cagemate was his next step. Moxie was surrendered with her father and brother after their owner lost several other colony members in a short time. She was unable to move either back leg and only had a bit of use in one front leg. Xrays confirmed Metabolic Bone Disease. After a few days of treatment, we began to see progress. She earned her name Moxie because she had it. She was feisty and she was a survivor. While she still has mobility issues, Moxie fought her way back to climbing and running in her Stealth wheel. Friends were all she lacked. She was a tiny girl and she needed to be cuddled and pampered, and a reunion with her father and brother was not going to happen. She would sit in her cage and stare at the other gliders and it was easy to see how badly she wanted a cagemate. When Moxie met Bogart, it was amazing. When he showed signs of stress, she would go to him and touch him. They would sit together for a few minutes and he would calm down. In my years of rescue, it was one of the most touching scenes I’ve witnessed. Bogart and Moxie will live out their lives at our sanctuary, but they will spend them with each other. Mocha & Java - Mocha has a severe seizure disorder, resulting in many lengthy seizures each year. Java has a large area of scar tissue from a wound that did not heal for over two years. Daiquiri & Jackie Chan - Daiquiri has significant neurological issues stemming from a long standing parasitic infection that went untreated before she came here. Jackie Chan is paralyzed.Dewey and Ludo: Dewey came from a mill breeder and was only 15 grams when purchased. That wonderful family nursed him to health and got him a friend, but decided they could not keep them. They were surrendered to me under the promise of it being forever. Dewey continues to have neurological issues which worsen in times of stress.Cinnamon, Toast & Diesel - Cinnamon and Diesel struggle with repeated facial abscesses. Toast has severe anxiety and a significant allergy to fabric softener that causes his eyes to swell shut. Cinnamon also has a slow-growing, non-cancerous tumor that will eventually have to be removed. Encore, Triscuit & Ritz : Encore is recovering from malabsorbtion issues that leave her with limited movement at the wrists and ankles and constant risk for fractures/breaks. Triscuit is paralyzed in the back legs due to an infection which ate away part of his spine. Kix and Captain Crunch (aka: The Cereals): The Cereals are Moxie’s father and brother. They were named by our vet in honor of their previous diet: cereal. While they weren’t as affected as Moxie was, they both had their share of scars. From what we’ve been able to piece together, there was an immense amount of fighting in their colony. None of the males were neutered, and all of the gliders that came from this colony had physical injuries. None of the gliders had ever received veterinary treatment. Finding a cannibalized joey finally pushed the owner to act. Kix and Captain Crunch were the last 2 to be surrendered. Once their wounds had been treated, they were neutered and have begun their emotional healing. Luckily, they were able to remain together as cagemates. Neither one enjoys human interaction much, but they will come up to get treats. They will be able to spend their remaining time at our sanctuary.Nugget & Chowder - Nugget has mobility issues stemming from a broken hip that healed improperly. He is prone to falling. Chowder has some mild anxiety, but nothing that is not overcome by time with his best buddy, Nugget. Yokio, Ivy and Chloe: These 3 joined forces here at the sanctuary. Ivy had been looking for the right friend for quite some time. She had been injured by 2 previous cagemates and she sports a large bald patch on her back from these injuries. Yokio had recently lost his lady and these 2 sad souls found happiness in each other. Yokio had a tumor in his chest that we felt would be too risky to remove. Ivy didn’t agree with our decision so she changed our minds by some aggressive grooming which resulted in an open wound on his neck. Since surgery was now in his future, it was decided to try to remove the tumor. Thanks to our amazing vet, it was successful. It seems Ivy certainly did know best. She and Yokio were recently joined by Chloe, another glider which has finished healing from a large back wound. They are a quiet trio who thrive on human cuddles. Both Yokio and Chloe are in their twilight years, while Ivy is the youngest at 5 years of age. These gliders have one must-have item in their cage at all times: a Fischer-Price Noah’s Ark. All 3 love spending time sitting in it. Large bowls and plastic toy baskets are also favorites. They will spend the rest of their lives at our sanctuary.Dizzy. Big over-groomer who we have tried to match with many cagemates - all of whom end up opening her up because she has had so many bare spots. Doodlebug and Sniglet: Now over 11 years old, this brother and sister is still holding on. Doodlebug lost an eye to a severe facial abcess upon arrival and they're both having some difficulty with mobility at this point. I am in the process of modifying their cage to prevent injuries and falls while still giving them enrichment opitons. They will be movThey have moved into a reptarium to reduce height and give more floor space since that's where they feel safer. They love the ferret tepees or cubes for sleeping as well as big hammocks. They now need toys that can be enjoyed while sitting in the safety of a roomy hammock or on the floor.

| Just a reminder... When you sign up you choose a rescue family or individual to ensure that they receive a gift. You do NOT, however, ship a gift to them. You ship your gift to the family or individual chosen by the buddy you are matched up with. | |

| Ok...so I don't make a gift for my buddy AND the rescue? I need to reread the directions...I misread the first time. | |

| You DO make a gift for your buddy AND for the rescue family that your buddy chose. Yes, two gifts. You just don't know who either gift is going to just yet. | |

| Instead of putting down a first and second choice for the rescue, can I put down that my choice for a rescue is the one with the LEAST number of gifts in this exchange? | |

| Yes, you may. Each rescue family will be matched with only one person. Once someone makes a choice, the family/glider will be indicated by striking through their listing above. For those of you who wish to, you may indicate an organization/rescue facility, and you will be matched with a family of gliders (or individual glider) who was NOT chosen on the last day of sign ups. | |

| I just want to be sure that the rescue I send to (my buddy's choice) can use what I make my buddy....that means they can climb. Is it possible to request such a match? | |

| All of the rescue homes have included wish lists for the rescued families listed as well. I know you are excited for what you are making, but it might be best to wait to see the wish lists of your buddy and your rescue family before you move forward.
When I sign up for a gift exchange, I always wait to see who my buddy will be and then read their wish list before I start creating. That way I am sure that they will love what I send. That is my personal way. You are free to make whatever you want for your gifts, but please be aware that some people (and some of the rescues) have very specific wish lists/needs.

| I have started sending buddy notices. Please be patient with me. This is a long process, so it may be the weekend before I get them all done. I'm working on it, though, so that you can all get to shopping!!! Yay!!! | |

| If they don't do so, then I say you are free to send them whatever YOU want. But, you could PM me. I at least know colors that your buddy would want, Bobbie. | |

| Are we all just waiting till the last minute to get our gifts out? I know that I have been sure to get those ordered from me out before my own personal buddy gift. I look and don't see many thank yous, so I think that we are all using all of our available time to make spectacular gifts for our buddies. Yep, that must be it! | |

| Just a reminder that all gifts must be shipped by the end of this week. We have a lot of people who have not posted that they received gifts, so I'm starting to check on whether or not those gifts have arrived.
No more procrastinating (and I'm also speaking to myself). Time to get those gifts on their way to buddies and rescues! | |
