Yes. It is not uncommon. There is a very, very wide range of bacteria found in facial abscesses. There is no one bacteria that is found most often.
E-coli has not yet proven to be one of the most difficult to treat or the most severe in terms of comorbid conditions, so that is good. Did they give you a severity number? (i.e. 1+ to 4+)

For those unfamiliar with facial abscesses, they very often recur over and over again. I have one glider who had over 30 facial abscesses during his life.
