| Meijer's one of our big chain all in one stores has a new variety of mixed veggies my gliders are loving. Well it might not be new but I just found it. Fiesta Style Vegetables has broccoli, carrots, white beans, dark red kidney beans garbanzo beans, italian beans, red peppers and no added seasonings. Mexican Style Vegetables has broccoli, corn, cauliflower, sweet red peepers and no added seasonings. Been gving the gliders these for the last week and they are cleaning their bowls.

| I have used the Fiesta style before, but have not seen the Mexican Style (which is strange considering where I live).

| I assume these are found in the frozen foods section, correct? Do I need to cut them up or do they seem to eat them well enough as they are? Sorry, kind of new at this but is there a set amount I should feed them or should I feed them as much as they want and assume they will eat only as much as they want? | |

| It depends which diet plan you are using. Each diet plan has a set amount of veggies to be fed. You should follow the plan you are using and feed that amount. | |

| Hi Val,
I have never had a specific diet plan. The gal I bought them from said to feed them the glider chow that she used and to put red delicisious apples into their pouch during the day for moisture which I tried for a while. They wouldn't eat the glider chow so I switched to the Glider Complete Diet that came with my cage set up kit. All the info that I read said to feed them a variety of fruits and veggies until I found what they like. They seemed to like the apples well enough so I continued to put them in the pouch but at the end of the day they were brown and gross. I discovered that they like grapes so I started putting them in the pouch instead of the apples. I continued to feed them apples along with carrots at night. Sometimes I will suppliment with celery, broccoli and whatever other veggies as I have in the fridge. I found they love cantalople and will eat that above all else. I also give them dried coconut, papaya, mangos, yogart covered craisons and pineaple. On occassion I give them yogurt or glideraid. They seem to be health enough but since almost everythin I read says to give them a variety of foods I thought I should be doing more. Do you thing that what I'm doing is sufficent? If so I will continue on without change. Thanks for your help...Becky | |

| I think you would be better off following one of the diet plans listed here: https://thesweetspot.forumotion.net/f76-glider-gourmetThere are many benefits to following one of these plans. In addition to improved overall health, they will also look better (no staining, smooth & full coats) and will smell better. We can't say that gliders "seem healthy enough" as they are exotic animals who will hide illness until it is advanced. This is why regular check ups with testing are strongly recommended every 6-9 months. Regular testing helps identify problems before they become serious or fatal and regular visits to the vet helps your vet establish a relationship with you and your gliders. This is very valuable in times of emergency. | |

| I feel like a complete novice at this! I copied Val's Green Variety Diet. Is that the one you meant? | |

| That one or any of the others: Priscilla Price's Pet Glider diet, HPW original, BML, the Australia Wombaroo Diet, the other HPW's .... whichever one you think works best for you and your budget/beliefs/habits/gliders. | |
