As we splash into summer, I would love for us to share smoothie recipes that you find your gliders really love.

When I make fruit smoothies here, I don't use yogurt because I have a few gliders that can't tolerate yogurt. I use fruit smoothies in place of the fruit with my diet, and can say that on smoothie days I find that the gliders eat more of all of their foods (those that are not big eaters, that is).

Here are two mixes that my gliders really love:

Banana, organic applesauce, blackberry, blueberry, papaya, soursop puree, pomegranate juice and strawberry/banana juice

Pineapple, mango, papaya, cherry, organic applesauce, peach, blueberry and organic pineapple/coconut juice.

Do you feed smoothies? If so, what have you found your gliders love?

I do not do Smoothies very often and looking forward to seeing what others use in theirs. Now may I ask what is soursop puree and where do I find it?

Mine go nuts for spinach, raspberries, avocado, banana, blueberry, apples, and green juice or carrot juice (whichever I have). Sounds gross, looks gross, but they LOVE it!

Brenda, Soursop is a fruit with many different names. I will soon be adding information about it in the "ingredient checklist" forum.

I try to feed a smoothie at least once per week. It is easy to make up on the nights that I work late and it just adds a little more variety to the presentation of foods.
