Would someone please tell me how to prepare fresh beets?

I don't eat them & have never made them. My neighbor brought some plain cooked beets over & I decided to offer them to the gliders as one of their veggies that night ~ they LOVED them. I know the beet itself does not have a great ratio, but the greens do. Although high in oxilates I could still use them ocassionally in my veggie rotation w/other better veggies.

So. I bought fresh beets. They are in my fridge drawer. Waiting for someone to tell me what to do with them :O)

Crystal, I have eaten beets before and they make me vomit. So, I've never learned to do anything with them. Sorry :(

Ha ha! Everything. Boil them, steam them, bake them, feed them raw. Just watch out for the juice & don't panic in the morning ~ it's not blood LOL!

Mine liked them so well there was no juice evidence of any kind left. Yeah, I totally would have forgot we tried beets the night before.

OMG, I had a glider walk through a blueberry, raspberry, strawberry smoothie once, and got it on his chest, nearly had a heart attack!

Maybe I'll try adding some beets in. Maybe.
