Texas VS. Florida Contests!!

This year, in the spirit of friendly competition, we will be offering a few contests which will pit those attending in Florida against those attending in Texas for the ultimate prize of BRAGGING RIGHTS! (we may throw in another prize or two. Who knows???)


The first contest is a CAGE DECORATING CONTEST!
Here is how it will work:
There will be two hidden forums created on The Sweet Spot - one for Texas attendees and one for those attending in Florida.
Once you register for the event, you will be given access to the one hidden forum for the venue you are attending (so, if you are attending in Texas, you will see the Texas forum but will not be able to see discussions in the Florida forum).

The challenge is for all attendees to work together before the event to plan the perfect cage set up. The possibilities are endless!!! But, the rule is that each item placed in the cage must be donated by one of the attendees for that venue.

You must use these months to plan and prepare and discuss and debate amongst yourselves.

Then, on Friday night (March 11) after dinner, each state will be given ONE HOUR to decorate your cage.
The cages will then be displayed for those participating from home. The online participants will be given instructions for voting on Saturday and will vote for the cage they think is best. The winning venue will be announced before the end of the event on Saturday.

These cages will then be offered in a very special raffle. So, put forth your best effort, as someone (well, two someones) will be going home with a new, fully decked out cage!!!

Val will not be participating in this event as she is the only person who will be able to see both hidden forums. Val has offered to make one product from her store for each venue. All you have to do is ask. All other SUGAR Group members can participate in the cage decorating contest, but are not eligible to win the cage in the raffle.

Someone better start medicating Davie right now. No way is she gonna be OK with only 1 hour to get the cage ready for a contest. She is gonna be a wreck Friday night!

Yaaaaaa, that one hour thing already had my eyeballs big and dazed.
Maybe this can be my freedom test. If I can get it done in one hour and not stress...maybe I'll be free of OCD forever. LOL! I'm also afraid no one on my team will like me after the contest. I mean, what if I hear "15 minutes remaining" and then I panic and accidentally shove someone out of the way? What if I start crying because I'm not ready when the timer goes off?

Perhaps I should just make some stuff and let everyone else arrange the cage. I can hide or something....run to BK to get a sweat tea.

We're thinking positive. This is gonna be great. I have a top secret plan.

Davi yo need to come to TX and be on my team. I am OCD not as bad as you but still we would be able to get it done together. Us OCD people have to stick together.
Val is threatening to have an intervention for all the OCD people out there and it scares me.

Us on a team? We would annoy Val so much, she'd kick us out of Texas! I can see it now. Both of us with our measuring tapes, making sure each item is equally spaced and facing the proper direction. Not that *I* do that....but you may. LOL

Sorry, Karen, but Davie must remain with me. As for Val staging an intervention, no worries....

Yes I am staying here in Fl. Mainly because it's so expensive to get to Texas. (well that the ONLY reason really. LOL) I wish we could have a huge raffle to pay for all of our tickets to Texas. Wouldn't that be awesome! ROFL Ya'll can set that up if you want to. :)

I DID say I was gonna do that. Starting with Karen, Davie, and Jen, then including Adri if she could make her way to Texas. Yep. An intervention is what those who love you do for you when your problem is out of control. It would only be out of love, you see.

I think what us Texans should do is throw together our cage in like 5 minutes WHILE also have absolutely NO matching things what-so-ever...then show it to Davie!!
She (and all other OCD participants) will immediately pass out from the horror of it all and we will win by default when they don't wake up in time to finish their cage.

Hope we get more registrations for both Texas and Florida soon! Remember, the earlier you register, the earlier you get to participate in the hidden discussions for the cage decorating contest!

can we ask vendors (friends) that are not attending to give us stuff for the cage?

Yep. You don't have to make the item yourself, you just have to donate it to the cause. You can purchase it, trick a friend into making it for you, whatever - just so that every item is donated to The SUGAR Group.

I can almost hear the wheels turning in all of your heads. I can't wait to see what these cages come out looking like!
