I am currently researching the many "approved" diets available but am puzzled about the protein. How much crude protein should I be looking for in a diet?

No one knows the answer to that question. There just is not enough scientific evidence for anyone to tell you that answer with certainty.
Many people believe that many of the diets are way too high in protein. Others feel that they are too low.
I think that we all agree that the diets most widely used in this community are sufficient in maintaining healthy gliders.
