I've seen discussions about the concern over excess iron content in BML and Darcy's Diet. Has anyone really looked into this?

I am working on gathering the data to calculate the iron content of the various recognized glider diets. That will allow me to compare the amounts in the current diets.

Comparison will only tell me what the current diets contain - unfortunately, we do not have a 'recommended' daily amount to tell us what is too high or too low. It will give me a RANGE of the amounts currently being fed to gliders and it will help identify any specific diets that appear to have an amount that is MUCH higher than all the other diets.

Val and any one else collecting medical data - please look to see if any necropsy reports collected to date have cited excess iron - and if the data is available what diets these gliders have been on.

I feel this is another issue that will keep popping up - that we just do not have a real answer for.
