I wasn't sure where to put this or what to title it - so, feel free to edit and move if needed.

I have a question for those who have gliders who are missing an arm/hand or a leg/foot. Do you find that the remaining limb/s have increased in size? Toffee's left arm was amputated at the shoulder and I have noticed over the years, that his right hand and fingers are huge compared to my other gliders. I'm assuming an increase in muscle mass since he is using that hand and arm twice as much and to compensate for the missing limb. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this, as well.

I can tell you without hesitation that Jackie Chan's upper body is massive compared to other gliders of similar basic size.

But, with my amputee gliders, no I have not noticed this. I'd like to hear from others.

Many years ago I had Sara, she had a back leg removed before she came to me. I never noticed any increase in size of the other legs. But, I would expect a healthy glider/amputee to have an increase in strength/size in the remaining limbs.

that would be my assumption as well....it seems to make sense, in the same way a blind person/animals other sense inmprove, i would expect the other limb to strngthen.

I think that it would depend on the limb that is missing...for instance, I would expect that if a front leg/hand were missing, there would be a proportional increase in the opposite arm......for a back leg, I expect the difference would not be so noticeable as there is less "dependence" on that limb
