Now, for those of you who have never had the pleasure of experiencing our Texas Panhandle weather, here are a few things you should know:

A chance of precipitation below 50% pretty much means it will not happen. If at all, we might get snow flurries, which will not stick or change road conditions.


High and low temperatures are posted as what the temperature would be if there were no wind. There is ALWAYS wind in the Texas Panhandle. ALWAYS. So, plan for it to FEEL colder than these temps.

She says wind like it's no big deal. However, you should think hurricane. Because if the snow is blowin' you're gonna poke an eye out. There is nothing to slow down the wind up there. Bring clothes you can layer.

How can it feel colder than 26? Isn't that kind of the bottom?

A nice warm coat and hat! As long as they aren't de-icing in Dallas and it isn't a blizzard or icy. Can't wait to see all of you!

Woohoo!!! I have sooo much to do! Cleaning and packing! Gotta make a list! I'm so excited to see everyone! I'll just pack as if I'm staying in MN and maybe I'll get lucky and be able to lose a layer or two of clothing...lol.

Oh, I promise you it can feel MUCH colder.

Yes, the wind here is pretty terrible. It is not at all uncommon (or even newsworthy anymore) for us to have 40-60 MPH straight winds.
