Read your machine's manual. For the most part, you will be sewing cotton or fleece. Use good needles and set your tension appropriately for fleece (or cotton). All machines are different (for example, on one of mine the tension is set at 2.5 and on another it is 4) Stitch size should always be small - depending on the machine. Usually around a 1, but again, all machines are different. Always straight stitches, no decorative stitching.
Know the basic rules for sewing for gliders and know your machine and you should be good to go.
