Does anyone have a fresh mix that they can post? Is it freezable like Val's diet? I am currently feeding Val's diet plan but I wanted to add something more economical for me hehe. I have been buying things like every 3 days because things go bad relatively quickly as far as open fruits etc. Any help would be great!!!

Also hi everyone I'm new to the forums. New owner of two girl twins. My name is Troy and I am here to help if I can :-)!!!

Here is what I buy fresh and freeze. This will last me about a week with 6 gliders.

small eggplant
small bag matchstick carrots
4 small red,yellow,orange peppers
snap peas
small bag of red cabbage
zucchini
yellow squash
broccoli
avocado
green beans
edema

As far the fruit is concerned you can dice and freeze it but it will freeze solid and will come out like a chunk. You are better off just buying fresh on the fruit.

I also make a mix of veggies and freeze it. At dinner time, I then add in whatever fruit looked good at the store - not much of it, since they get so much fruit in the staple mix - and pour the staple over it all. They clean up every bit :o) I will add a little fruit into the veggie mix if I am going to be gone for a couple days and someone else is feeding them. That just makes it easier for the person helping me out.
When freezing, I keep the baggie of mix in the kitchen freezer and periodically break it up so that it doesn't freeze into a block. If I mess up and it does, it only takes several smacks on the counter, maybe a gentle pounding or two with a hammer (and then a new baggie :o) to break it up. It works out perfectly!
Fruit....I buy a couple apples and a couple of whatever looks good and use it for the week. I don't cut it until I am going to use it, and if there's leftovers, I eat it.

I feed a mix of both. Every day my gliders get something fresh, and the extra of that fresh gets tossed into the freezer to add to the mix, either fruit or veg (they aren't mixed together).

Bok choy
Butternut squash
Sweet peppers
Green Beans
Sweet potato
(pretty much your firmer veggies where the cell structure won't break down too much after freezing/thawing)

I buy all of these, dice them up in batches, spread them out on a sheet pan and freeze them. (also in batches) Once frozen I throw into bags. Doing it this way keeps them from freezing in big, clumpy blobs.

Fruit, I just buy some pre-frozen organic blueberries, raspberries, mango, etc. I personally just prefer to buy these pre-frozen.

Yes freezing them on a cookie sheet and putting them in the bag works great.

My mix today will make 2-3 ziplocs full, and will include:
Bok choy
Celery
Orange and red sweet peppers
Packaged broccoli slaw
Cucumber
Sweet potato
Frozen mixed veggies
Turnip greens

Since strawberries are in the garden now (and are sooooo good) that will be the fruit tonight along with fresh mango (on sale for only $1)

I usually take a small bowl of veggies, before the frozen ones are added, and have it for dinner as my salad :-)
