| Lawrenceville-Suwanee Animal Hospital Dr Stephanie Karous 900 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd. Lawrenceville, GA 30043 770-963-0184
This is my primary veterinarian, she is very knowledgeable and great with my gliders. Her and her entire staff have a great beside manner. Also, they have late afternoon and Saturday hours.
I have also used Dr. DeLong and VCA Avalon (listed above) and he was pretty good.

| For anyone interested - I just want to throw a kudos out for Dr. Stephanie Karous. She did an EXCELLENT job on a few neuters, well checks, and fecals for me a few weeks back. Solid veterinarian that was willing to spend time with me AND had my boys up from anesthesia in about 10 minutes. She did laser pom off neuters. The cost was $179 per glider including the well check and fecals. There is also a $30 off special running right now.
We have used Dr. Delong at Avalon in the past. While he is certainly a strong exotic vet - he has told me he does not care for gliders as pets and feel that they are "just too wild" and can revert too quickly. He actually said "they make very bad pets". I have heard as of late that Dr. Delong is ailing in health - so this clinic would need to be revisited before I could recommend. Another thing to note - their prices appear to be about triple that of other vets out there.

| I second the kudos for Dr. Karous @ Lawrenceville-Suwannee Animal Hospital. She will also allow you to mail in your fecals or bring in a bag of the fecals for about $25. We would test Batman & Catwoman about every 3 months because we were able to do both at the same time.
Just moved to Augusta not too long ago.
Highland Animal Hospital 2124 Highland Avenue Augusta, GA 30904
Has two vets that see sugar gliders/exotics:
Dr. T Lamar Walker (whom we saw for their nail trim & has GREAT bedside manner but we have yet to take the kids in for anything else as of yet. Their annual wellness check is up in Sept & October...we'll keep you posted!)
Dr. Phil Iverson (Did not see him but he is also listed.)

| I hate to do this but I have to add the intel. Dr. Karous at LSAH is wonderful - however, I think we might need to limit the referral here for well checks and neuters. She was contacted a short time ago to handle a sick visit for an infection and her staff said that she really just likes to stick with neuters. So, I won't say they are not a good resource but I will suggest you call in advance and try to gain an understanding of her scope of offered care going forward. I will put a call into the office to try to "vet" this out. No pun intended. | |
