Flax seed oil and/or ground flax meal are other ingredients also added to some of the diets we feed our gliders.

I have been using flax oil in my own diet for years as it has been shown to reduce inflammation associated with Lupus.

Flax Oil is full of essential Fatty Acids and the benefits that come with. It has been shown to reduce risk of heart disease in humans, minimize nerve damage, assist with digestive issues, help with constipation and reduce the risk of cancer.

In regards to the meal or flax seeds
Quote :
Flax seeds, because they contain some protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and lignins, are more nutritious than their oil.

I add just a small amount of flax oil or meal to many of my batches of staple food.

I grind and use flax seed in my diet. It is also very high in fiber, I have found on the nights that they get the staple with flax seed, they don't eat as much.
