I recently got the results of the necropsy and, after reading that, and talking with Val, via email, am now confident that I made the right decision.  Lan's body still had a lot of infection and his lungs were congested.  He also had a blood clot in his lungs and swelling in his brain.  I don't believe we can be sure whether it was the infection that did all of that or if it was his body's response to the infection and medication.  It sounded like he may have had a compromised immune system (I do not know the history of his first approximately 3 years - who knows what his lineage was or if he was inbred, I do know that the woman I got him from did not know what proper health and husbandry habits were) or the infection could have been resistant.  I am honored and proud to have now had 3 precious gliders sent for necropsy and histopathology to help The SUGAR Group learn more about these amazing little ones.  I love and miss you, Lan.  I am so glad that you are at rest and are back with your love, Nynaeve.  <3
