Tonight, for dinner, I'm going to make my babies work for their food! I make 10 plates of food each night, so today, I bought 5 pears. I am going to half them, core them (kind of a big core, will save the leftovers for smoothies), and stuff them with chicken and some rainbow salad, then flip them over so they are flat side down on the plate. I'll sprinkle some other veggies around it on the plate, too. And poke some holes in the pear, so they can smell the chicken. Maybe this will keep them from caroling at 4 in the morning. Yes, caroling. All 8 cages, okay could have been 5 or 6, but it was a LOT of gliders, in there barking for almost an hour. Anyway, I'll take before and after pics, and let y'all know how it goes Make 'em work for it! 890490

Wow, anxious to hear if the anti-caroling technique worked! LOL Sounds like a great idea!

It did work! I have the pics on my phone, but there was silence through the night! They ate everything, too! Well, not the entire pear, but one pair did, left only the skin! I had one trio get to the chicken by eating through the top of the pear. Everyone else just picked it up, LOL One of my girls in my cage of 7 had a piece of chicken out of the pear before I had the plate all the way in the cage! I think they liked it, and it can be done with any fruit or veggie you can cut in half and put face down on the plate. So: apples, pears, tomato, squash, cucumber, egg plant, whatever. I like mixing up their food, and how they get it.
