2011 "Personality Plus" awards

As part of our
annual celebration of glider research, rescue and education this year,
the SUGAR Group is hosting a contest open to ALL glider owners. We are
seeking the biggest and cutest personalities for recognition this year.

This contest will feature 12 categories. The community will vote for one winner in each category.
Winners of each category will receive a calendar in which their story/photo will be featured one month.

Rules:

You are welcome to submit ONE nomination in each category. You may only
submit ONE nomination per category. Anyone who makes more than one
submission in any one category will have all of their submissions in
that category deleted.

* A special forum will be opened on The
Sweet Spot for the submission of nominations. Nominations may be
submitted today through Feb. 13, 2011.

* ALL Sugar glider owners
are allowed to make submissions (including SUGAR group staff). You do
not have to plan to attend the RRRoundup to make a nomination or to win a
category.

* Within 3 days of the submission deadline, a
committee of three people who do not own sugar gliders (identities to be
revealed at the RRRoundup)will review each category and narrow the
nominations down to the top 4 submissions in each category.

Once the top 4 in each category are chosen, then voting will begin on
the SUGAR Group's website. Voting will occur on this website to keep the
voting secret until the Friday night dinner at the RRRoundup.

In order to ensure that votes are counted accurately, the votes will be
tallied by Karen Milas, Shawna Grupe, Jamie Trujillo and Brandon
Trujillo on Friday, March 11, 2011 just hours before dinner.

Winners of the categories will be announced at dinner on Friday night,
March 11, 2011. All paid registrants for the RRRoundup (including those
who are participating online) will have access to view the dinner and
winner announcements.

* Winning photos and stories will be posted in our scrolling ads and trivia during breaks and meal time on Saturday.

*
All entries are given with permission to the SUGAR Group to utilize the
stories and/or photos at the RRRoundup, in the calendar and on our
website.

* Community votes are final. In the event of a tie, we
will ask for votes from Debbie Betts, Brandon Trujillo and one hotel
staff member.

actual gauge of popularity or personality. Only enter if you do so in a
spirit of fun.

I gotta say, I'm LOVING this contest so far! Everyone has such amazing pictures. I just love them! I'm gonna have to make time to find more of mine.

ummm yeah....Val...you know what photo I am talking about for biggest flirt....it is a famous one of you and JC staring into each other's eyes......you need to enter THAT photo

Took me ages to find pics for the entries! Lol! Was so much fun to do, though. As far as I know, I don't have any holiday-themed photos besides cages, though. :( I'll have to change that soon. Everyone's entries are so wonderful! Having such a good time with this one!

nope that isn't the one I was thinking of....but that one is cute cute cute.....this one is definitely JC and Val it had to be sometime way before I came to see you in Feb 09 if that helps date-wise at all.....

edited to add that it was after his last surgery....maybe that narrows down the time frame a littlle

I have now closed nominations. Boy, this is going to be hard!

Within the next few days (by next weekend) our panel of non-glider peeps will narrow down each category to the top 4 submissions and then we will open voting!

All but 3 of the categories have been narrowed down to 4 by our panel of non-glider owners. They are having trouble agreeing on 3 of the categories cause the submissions are so good!

Now I just have to figure out how to make the voting happen. LOL.

This has been a great contest! Every submission is a winner in my book.
